I’m Getting Married !

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Hi I’m Leeann and I’m getting married in July 2010. I am also in the enviable position of working on the Scottish Wedding Shows at the SECC, Glasgow.

Since I got engaged to my fiancé Keith I have been looking at the shows with a different perspective and getting more and more exciting about my wedding.

I’m particularly excited about the show coming up on the 19th & 20th September. As I’m originally from Fort William, I’ve got my mum, Jean, bridesmaids, Pammy, Elaine and Joan and my sister in law Sharon with flower girl Sophie, coming down and we’re making a real weekend of it. I’ve got a list as long as my arm of things I want to buy and book at the show.

Keith and I have been saving like mad so I’m planning to blow this all at the show. I managed to find the dress of my dreams at the last show in February and am hoping to find the perfect tiara and jewellery as well as shoes to go with it. The girls are excited about looking for bridesmaid dresses as this is the first chance we’ve had to get together and look.

Keith is coming on the Sunday and wants some ideas for him and his best man Steve

Many of the companies seem to be doing special offers at the show, so I really want to take advantage of these.

Would love to hear from other brides, how is your planning going and are you sticking to the budget??

p.s Is anyone else struggling to lose weight??

Bespoke Wedding Stationery

Friday, August 21st, 2009

If you are looking for attention to detail and outstanding quality – look no further – this stunning custom made stationery will send the WOW factor in floods to your wedding guests. One off designs – fabulous presentation – unbelievable comments from guests. What more could you ask for.

Well… with the credit crunch perhaps something that helps to keep the costs down?

You will be delighted to hear that we are launching a new range of ‘off the shelf’ stationery ‘Pret-a-Porter Stationery’ at the SECC.  This is a limited edition, off the shelf range with designer flair on a non-bespoke budget. Why not consider pushing the bank balance for your day time invites with a custom made design and limiting your spending with the remainder of your stationery from the Pret-a-Porter range?

Jackie Adams has been responsible for the Pret-a-Porter designs (and quality control) but Mark Adams is going to be responsible for the workload on a part-time basis so bookings are going to be limited. The quality is amazing and so far the response has been very positive.

To view more designs visit www.bespokeweddingstationery.org.uk and visit the Pret-a-Porter page and click on the link at the bottom of that page. If you are interested please email or call Jackie on 07590527658 to discuss details.

The Video Company

THE VIDEO COMPANY.CO.UK – STAND P22

People attending the Scottish Wedding Show will bear witness to the restructuring of how The Video Company offer their services, as well as benefit from a complimentary deluxe copy of their production for any bookings secured at the show.

Over the last year, we gathered feedback from the majority of our clients, in a bid to keep things simple for future brides and add value to our service. Therefore, we have decided to cease offering different packages, replacing them with a basic structure which can be customised at will.

All packages will include coverage from the arrival before the ceremony, through to the first dances. Extra features, such as bridal preparations, can then be added as personal taste and budget permits.

The complimentary deluxe copies, for bookings secured at the show, will include the uncut master footage along with an audio CD. Therefore, in addition to your professionally produced video production, you will have a record of all the footage shot during the day and a soundtrack of the music used in your production.

If you’re attending the show, feel free to pop by our stand (P22) and have a quick discussion about your wedding plans. We look forward to seeing you.

Moss Bros – Top tips for grooms!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Come for a fitting in advance – Even if you know your size, we recommend that grooms and their party get properly sized by going to their nearest stores for a fitting in advance. Moss Bros Hire offer a fully tailored service where you’ll be measured from head to toe to ensure a perfect fit on the day!

Saving money – In today’s current climate, every penny counts. At Moss Bros Hire, by booking four or more to be dressed in the wedding party, the groom goes completely free.

Button up – When it comes to wearing your outfit, grooms should leave the bottom button of your waistcoat undone and most people rarely do their morning jacket up. It’s something small but will make all the difference.

Shirt cuffs- For a truly sartorially smart look, grooms should leave an inch of shirt cuff below the coat sleeve as it balances out the crispness of the shirt at the neckline and contrasts with the dark morning suit.

All tied up – If grooms are stuck with how to tie your cravat or tie, don’t worry, ask a member of staff during your fitting to show you exactly how to do it on the day.

Shoes – Last but not least, grooms must never forget to polish their shoes on the day, there’s nothing worse than scruffy shoes with a beautiful outfit!
